Who Counts as “Christian”? Panel Discussion at St. Louis Community College

October 28 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This free event is being brought to you by Dr. Sahar Joakim and St. Louis Community College. ReThink315 was asked to provide 3 of the 6 panelists. Recommended ages: 16+

Christianity is the world’s largest religion, yet Christians often disagree about issues like baptism, communion, free will, church authority, sexuality, and countless other aspects of faith and practice.

So what does it actually mean to follow Jesus? Which beliefs are essential to the Christian faith, and where is there room for disagreement?

Join us for another thoughtful and respectful panel discussion featuring leaders from six Christian traditions. Each panelist will explain how their tradition answers these questions, engage one another in charitable dialogue, and respond to questions from the live audience.

Whether you’re a committed Christian, a skeptic, or simply curious, you’re welcome to listen, learn, and join the conversation.

The Panelists:
Father Charlie Archer — Roman Catholic
Rev. Brandon Boos — LCMS Lutheran
Rev. Will DuVal — Evangelical Free Church
Reader Athanasius Klein — Eastern Orthodox
Rev. Hunter Zyriek-Rhodes — United Church of Christ
Rev. Katie Trinter — United Methodist Church

Moderated by:
Dr. Sahar Joakim
