Statement of Faith

One True God & Creator

We affirm that there is one true God, an uncaused first cause, an intelligent designer, eternally existent in the distinct persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who created everything from nothing. (References: Genesis 1:1, 26; 3:22; 11:7; Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Galatians 3:20; 1 Timothy 2:5; Isaiah 6:8, 48:16, 61:1; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Humans & Sin

We affirm that all humans, unlike other creatures, are uniquely made in God’s image. In addition to mirroring some of His attributes, God created humans with a natural desire for intimacy with Him and a posture of trust toward Him. However, God also created humans with the freedom to reject Him and humanity’s original representative, Adam, chose just that. As a result, all humans are now marred with disordered desires and a posture of distrust toward God. These disordered desires and trust issues are what the Bible refers to as sin. Though marred by sin, all humans, from conception, still reflect God’s image and are worthy of dignity and honor. (References: Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3: 6-21; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2)

Jesus

We affirm the full humanity and the full deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His fulfillment of Old Testament Messianic prophecy, His virgin birth, His miracles, His perfect obedience to and unwavering trust in God The Father, His ultimate fulfillment of Adam’s original mandate as humanity’s true and better representative, His broken body, shed blood, and atoning death for humanity’s individual and collective sins, His literal historical bodily resurrection, His literal ascension, and His literal and forthcoming return. (References: Revelation 1:17, 2:8, 22:13; 1 Corinthians 10:4; 1 Peter 2:6-8; Psalm 18:2, 95:1; 1 Peter 5:4; Hebrews 13:20; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:27, 34; 1 John 3:5; John 20:30; John 21:25; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-20; Luke 24:1-53; John 20:1–21:25; Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 8:19-25; 1 Corinthians 1:7; Philippians 3:20; Titus 2:13)

The Holy Spirit

We affirm the person, work, and present ministry of the Holy Spirit who lives within and enables all Christians to live Godly lives. In addition to convincing, convicting, comforting, and empowering us, we believe the Holy Spirit provides one or more spiritual gifts to all believers, manifesting these gifts as He wills. (References: John 14:17; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Ephesians 4:11; Romans 12:6–8)

The Bible

We affirm the Bible to be the Holy Spirit inspired, authoritative Word of God and that each book of the Bible is trustworthy, reliable, and accurate in all it communicates in accordance with the author’s intent and God’s inspirational purposes. (References: 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21)

The Church

We affirm the one universal Church, which is the Body of Christ, with Christ as its head, and all that are born again are its members. (References: 1 Corinthians 12:12–21, 27; Ephesians 5:22–25, 30)

Christian Sexual Ethics

We affirm that human sexual desire, sexual identity, and sexual activity was originally designed for procreative purposes, marital intimacy, and as a reflection of Christ’s mysterious relationship with His Bride, The Church. Unfortunately, human sexual desire has also been marred by sin. Therefore, no one is “sexually perfect” and everyone, yes everyone, misses the mark. None-the-less, as Christians, we affirm God’s original design for sex and marriage as the target to aim for. That said, we affirm sexual chastity for Christian single men and Christian single women and we affirm the sacredness of Christian marriage defined as a monogamous union between one man and one woman. (References: 1 Corinthians 7:2; Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:23–33; Matthew 19:4–6)

Our Speakers and Panelists

Our special event speakers and panelists represent different Christian churches, denominations, non-denominations, and traditions. All of our speakers and partners, to the best of our knowledge, affirm the essentials of historic and Biblical Christianity. As a denominationally neutral para-church ministry, we value unity in the essentials, liberty in the non-essentials, and charity in everything else.
